I need criticism, please!?
Hello, I have to write a poem for my English class and I have NEVER written one before. It has to be about the community and what it is, who’s part of it, and how a community is different in Africa then say America. Thanks!
I was homeless; but I was a man, a filthy, a hungry, a scared man.
I lived on the gravel; the freezing, hard gravel, equipped with a beer can.
This the pain I had before I met Mace; beautiful, loving, caring, Mace.
She picked me up from my lowest place, by driving me everyday,
To a spot I now call heaven, the lovely, the marvelous, the soup kitchen.
The soup was warm, the bread tasty too, with love in every bite,
Thoughts of how In Africa poverty is the norm, it just wasn’t right.
But it’s different here, in America, our love for eachother shows,
Our community sticks together life a foot and it’s toes.
And I think back to the soup kitchen, the volunteers, your average joes
How grateful I am for my community, my tender, dear community,
Who accepts everyone, even their foes.
really?! that means alot!
Its a very good beginning to be a real poet!
